Data Engineer – Databricks Platform
Axveer is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Databricks expertise to support the development and evolution of a large-scale enterprise data platform in the industrial technology sector. The project focuses on building modern data engineering pipelines, scalable data models, and analytics-ready datasets within a Databricks ecosystem. The role will involve working with large operational datasets, designing robust data transformation pipelines, and contributing to the long-term architecture of an enterprise-grade data platform. This position is remote-first, but candidates should be comfortable collaborating with a European team and may be asked to travel to Client site for an initial project kickoff or occasional on-site collaboration.
- Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
- Build and maintain Databricks-based data engineering workflows
- Contribute to the implementation of medallion architecture (bronze / silver / gold layers)
- Develop and optimize data models for analytics and downstream applications
- Work with large-scale datasets to support operational and analytical use cases
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance best practices
- Collaborate with distributed teams across engineering, analytics, and product functions
- Participate in architecture discussions related to data platform scalability and performance
- Strong experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience designing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques for analytical systems
- Experience working with Delta Lake or modern data lakehouse architectures
- Familiarity with data platform governance and quality frameworks
- Ability to work effectively in distributed engineering teams
- Experience implementing medallion data architecture
- Exposure to AI/ML data preparation pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience working with event-driven or streaming data systems
- Understanding of data platform CI/CD practices
- Remote-first role
- Collaboration with teams operating in the Central European Time (CET) zone
- Candidates should be comfortable adjusting their schedule to support CET overlap
- Occasional travel to Europe may be required for project onboarding or key workshops
